Digital disruption event set for MediaCityUK
Dentsu Aegis Network are set to explore digital disruption at an event at Salford Quays on June 13.
The event, entitled Make Disruption Pay: Breaking Barriers to Growth, will showcase a number of leading speakers who have successfully identified ways businesses can use the latest digital trends to reach customers.
Speakers from VICE Media, Entertainment Magpie and Global will join experts from across Dentsu Aegis Network’s agency brands to offer practical solutions that will help businesses keep pace with the global technology platforms that are disrupting traditional customer relationships.
The editor-in-chief of the Manchester Evening News Darren Thwaites will also take part in a panel discussion.
Dentsu Aegis Network, the largest media network of brands and people outside of London, expects an audience of 200 will attend the event at MediaCityUK.
This includes a range of media owners and communications specialists from across the sectors of retail, financial services, travel, health and leisure.
It is the second time the connected services business for the digital economy has held the event in Manchester.
Rachel McDonald, managing director of Dentsu Aegis Network North, said the seminars will help companies navigate the unprecedented change driven by the growth and evolution of the digital economy.
She said: “Change of almost unprecedented scale is washing over the global economy. Technology is powering a new breed of customer: one with information at their fingertips and the power to shape relationships with only the brands of their choice.
“Unsurprisingly, many businesses are struggling to keep pace with the impact of global technology platforms that are disrupting traditional customer relationships. And using up huge amounts of resource adapting and planning for a future where technology is ever more immersive and powerful.
“The digital economy is not just about digitising existing processes and business models. It is a fundamental revolution of the traditional economic model, creating opportunities and challenges for business growth.
“This complicated and constantly changing world is one in which marketing can be a powerful force for growth if you know how to unlock the potential of the rapidly evolving media ecosystem. The key lies in understanding and responding to the needs of a new breed of customer whose expectations are higher than ever.”
Dentsu Aegis Network North employs 600 people across offices in Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle and Edinburgh. Its leading agency brands include Carat, iProspect, Vizeum, Amplifi, Amnet and The StoryLab.
