The Manchester app backed by Joe Hart that will help you take the perfect selfie
A Manchester app has landed that will help you snap the perfect selfie, and it’s being backed by Joe Hart.
Professional sports photographer, Sharon Latham, has collaborated with Manchester mobile technology group, Apadmi, to create Selfie Guide.
After working closely with, and gaining support for the idea from England international footballer, Joe Hart, travellers, holiday makers and selfie takers now have the tool to create the picture-perfect portrait.
Originally from Lancashire, Latham has been a professional photographer for over 20 years, and has travelled the globe to take official photos of Manchester City Football Club and music artists such as Noel Gallagher, The Stone Roses and Bon Jovi.
Noticing the abundance of poorly taken selfies, the idea arose to create an app that not only gives directions to users on how to reach the perfect selfie location, but that also provides filters and positioning lines to help construct the image correctly.
Having no previous experience with mobile technology, Latham approached mobile technology group, Apadmi. After travelling across the globe covering 22 locations in six months, she fed back every detail of her experience which converted every picture, coordinate and location into 22 guides to help people discover the likes of Paris through to the Gold Coast.
Apadmi worked closely with Latham and Hart from the initial app concept to the technical build, branding and logo. It is live on the app stores for iOS and Android devices.
Latham said: “When I came up with the idea for Selfie Guide, I wanted to help people create great imagery. It’s taken a few months to perfect, but I couldn’t be happier with the result.
“The team at Apadmi helped me to realise this idea to the fullest potential, and they added the fun features and design elements that make this app a unique, useful and engaging.”
Manchester City goalie Joe Hart, who is currently on loan to West Ham, has been a full business partner of the app from the start back in Oct 2016, and has been involved in all of the key decisions with the app.
He said: “I am proud to be a partner in The Selfie Guide, it is a project I have worked closely on over the past twelve months and I am looking forward to see the app develop further in the future.”
Apadmi CEO, Nick Black, added: “We’ve been building apps and working with mobile solutions for years, so we’re used to people coming to us with just an idea and bags of enthusiasm.
“We’ve loved watching this app unfold into the useful tool it now is for budding photographers, and we’re excited to watch it grow.”
